This quarter GCHD is focusing on fitness. We wanted to share Cassi's story with our social media audience. It's a powerful story!
Why did you start this journey?
1. Last year my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and my blood pressure was stroke level. I knew that day I had to make a lifestyle change. I want to be around for my son and family but the way my health was I wouldn’t be.
What helped you along the way?
2. Healthy eating and exercise are what have helped me achieve my goal of losing 140 pounds. I stopped eating junk food and started eating healthy foods; fruits, veggies, lean meats. I also go to a workout class 3 times a week and make sure to get over 10,000 steps a day.
How has this changed your life?
3. Achieving my goals has had a huge impact on my life! I have more energy now and can do things I have never been able to do. My blood pressure is no longer high and I am no longer pre-diabetic! I can go to the park with my son and enjoy playing for hours!
Do you have any words of encouragement for others?
4. This journey has changed my life for the better. I have never been this healthy before. It’s hard work but it’s worth it.
