Social Media Policy

GCHD does not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify or agree with Third Party comments, messages, posts, opinions, advertisements, videos, promoted content, external hyperlinks, linked websites (or the information, products or services contained therein), statements, commercial products, processes or services posted on any social media site.

Our social media site serves as a limited public forum and all content published is subject to preservation and disclosure in accordance with HIPAA regulations and the commonwealth of Kentucky. User-generated posts may be rejected or removed when the content includes any of the following:

â–  incitement of violence or violent behavior,

â–  defamation or gossip,

â–  copyrighted or commercial material,

â–  patient public health information [PHI],

â–  fraudulent material or accusations/misinformation,

â–  obscene or illegal material.

Those that participate in the above behavior may be blocked from using our social media accounts without notice. Furthermore, depending on the severity, GCHD may notify local law enforcement.

Our Facebook and Instagram account is logged. All comments posted are logged--even if a user deletes or hides comments. Such activity, and similar activity, is kept on a server with Archive Social.

We do not allow information intended to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems. You participate at your own risk, taking personal responsibility for your comments, your username and any information provided.

To secure such systems, we sometimes restrict comments to ensure that emergency information is safely and clearly communicated by our department and to the public. We determine what posts warrant comment restrictions.

Social media is not monitored 24/7. For emergencies, contact 911.
